OpenPiMS - v8.2.0 - Release Notes 11/03/2026
Better Control Over Scheduling. Clearer Insurance Billing. We are pleased to share OpenPiMS v8.2.0, a small but practical update focused on improving everyday workflows across appointments, reporting, inventory, and billing.
At a glance
- Inventory: item prices are now visible in the overview table
- Appointments: you can now add, edit, and delete unavailability and ad hoc clinics from one dedicated area
- Daily Appointments Report: you can now export to Excel
- Billing: improved support for invoices issued to insurance companies, with the related patient linked clearly to the invoice
Manage Unavailability and Ad Hoc Clinics
We have introduced a new dedicated area that allows users to add, edit, and delete both unavailability and ad hoc clinics more easily.
To access it, go to the Appointment page, click the down arrow next to + Appointment, and select Manage Blocks and Ad Hoc.
From there, you can view existing entries, make changes where needed, remove outdated ones, or add new records from one place.
Billing Improvements for Insurance Invoices
We have enhanced the Billing → Create Invoice page to better support invoices issued to an insurance company while still linking the related patient for claim identification.
As part of this update, “To:” has been renamed to “Bill to:”, and a new searchable “Re Patient” field has been added underneath.
For insurer invoices, patient details can now also be printed in a separate invoice panel, helping insurers match the claim more easily.
This makes the invoice structure clearer:
Bill to = the payer, such as the insurance company
Re Patient = the patient the invoice relates to
